Pierce County will extend the Foothills trail to Meeker, on the outskirts of Puyallup, in 2004. The Cities of Puyallup and Tacoma need to join with Pierce County in continuing the trail along the Puyallup River to Commencement Bay. This is a critical link in our dream of a continuous non-motorized trail from Mount Rainier to Commencement Bay.
